Autumn Walks

We had a brilliant october this year with lots of sunny days and beautiful blue skies.  Thank goodness we were able to get out for lots of fresh air before the long, cold winter sets in! The first photos are from a nature trail in woodland within some botanical gardens. A favourite place as the walk is manageable for Amy and Tanya and depending on the time of year we usually get to see tadpoles or frogs in the ponds.
Tanya hugs a tree.

There are a couple of frogs here somewhere, honest!
A view of the gardens from the woods.
Another walk in a another favourite place. More woods and lots of mushrooms which manolo just about managed to resist picking!

These last two photos are from the Chestnut Festival in Roccavione when the town is filled with stalls and quite a few chestnuts!  One little street is filled with kids trying to sell off their old toys and this year Luca decided to take part, sharing a stall with nextdoor neighbour Elisa. Her older sister Gulia was there to supervise and Amy and Tanya also stayed until lunchtime, but were more interested in buying than selling!  In fact, Luca seemed to come home with more stuff than he took with him so defeating Mum's hopes for clearing out his room!  But it was all good fun and a stupendously sunny day which made Tanya's tombola prize an ideal one!
