Summer Snapshots
The second half of the summer was spent largely at the river behind our house where the kids had great fun in the sand and actually so did we!

Luca catches a tadpole (then throws it back in).

Jake joins in the fun.
Anyone for a blueberry?
One weekend we had a visit from our friend Franco and his Vietnamese wife Tham. We took them to another spot by the river, five minutes drive from our house, called Smugglers' Caves.
The boys try their hand at skimming stones.
Tham obviously loves kids so was great at keeping the twins entertained.
Amy and Tanya in their backpacks ready for the trip back to the car.Manolo and Amy on the way back to the car.
A picnic at the top of a (small) mountain one day had us running for cover to escape the rain and freezing cold as the sun rapidly disappeared in the mist. But we still managed to have fun!
Watery madness that only happened once!
Amy waters the geraniums,
then she waters them a bit more,
then a little bit more.......!
